Harvest of Fear

1. A 'GM' crop is a genetically modified crop that has altered genes through genetic engineering techniques.

2. Arguments for genetically modified crops/foods:
Farmers could reap great benefits from biotechnology
GM foods can promise health benefits

3. Arguments against genetically modified crops/foods:
GM technology could harm business of small farmers
Could defy laws of Nature

4. *could not answer due to technical issues"

5. Two genetically modified foods commonly found on a dinner table:
a) (pizza) They are modifying rennet, useful for a multitude of things.
b) (coffee) Scientists are altering the caffeine content in coffee. People could potentially harvest decaffeinated coffee beans.

6. Yes, food should have a label. Think of the health risks that could arise if one buys food without even knowing what could have been added to it!
